Our team's adventure (misadventure) during the height of the typhoon....

This was definitely the most challenging event we have handled not because Chris and Rochelle were not nice or because they turned into the proverbial Bridezilla or Groomzilla on the day of the event ( coz they could still smile that day). BUT It was because we had nature's wrath to contend with..

Getting to the hotel was really a feat we had water, wind, unscrupulous money-making people to deal with on the way to the Sofitel. Not to mention that I had to keep in contact with all our vendors to find out where they were and whether they were gonna make it on time. Turns out, Madge, Oly, Mervin were also stuck in the floods along the metro making it really impossible to push through with the wedding that afternoon.

So Chris and I had to think quickly and coordinate with everyone (this while my team and I were moving from one mode of transportation to another) . Fortunately, San Agustin was available for a 7am wedding the following day, all our vendors were also available, Rochelle and her family at the hotel took charge of informing all the guests ...while Chris informed the other suppliers and I tried my best to coordinate with everyone while in transit.

Suffice it to say, we arrived at the hotel shortly before lunch ..all drenched and looking like soaked puppies.. mustering enough poise as we passed through the glass doors of Sofitel pretending not to be cold and muttering a chirpy Good Morning to the hotel staff through clenched teeth.

We proceeded to the rooms where the families of Chris and Rochelle were and soon as we said our pleasantries and met everyone else, immediately set down to finalize the wedding for the following day with Chris. I remember Chris saying he was willing to go through the wedding if Rochelle wanted to really do it that afternoon minus the guests and all but it was agreed to wait till the next morning, hoping and praying the typhoon would somehow have calmed a bit.

Needless to say, we had to camp in Rochelle's room that night with the staff of Edward Teng as to insist on going home would be futile considering our early 4am call time.

It was an experience that we shall always remember and cherish...we admire that even with all that happened , both families spirits could not be dampened by the storm that hit us all hard that day. A lot of people suffered we know, we have family members too that were badly affected by this typhoon, but that morning that Chris & Rochelle finally said their I do's , we could not help the feeling of love all around during the beautiful ceremony San Agustin Church (well with alterations coz now we had a single celebrant instead of the con- celebrated mass we were supposed to have the day before) and at the reception that followed at the Palacio de Maynila. Just could not help but smile and 'sigh'... and shed some tears during the heartwarming speeches... anyhow , just sharing our different adventure that day.... and would like to thank Chris & Rochelle for being such a wonderful couple .... they were so calm and collected, not letting the weather get them down. I remember the meetings we had and how we wanted everything to be perfect, all the plans and all...but then there are some things we simply cannot control and had not anticipated..but all-in-all, I must say all was well for Chris & Rochelle that day. God bless!! We loved working with you guys! :-)
