Rose & Wowie are both based in Kuwait and booked with us for Turn-over Coordination early this year. When Rose first made an inquiry, she had several concerns which were making her really causing her anxiety. Rose and I kept constantly in touch and she finally booked with us and we had no regrets taking on this lovely couple as our client.

Rose or Micai ,as she is lovingly called by her family & friends, is with Crowne Plaza, Kuwait and has been a very resourceful bride who does her research but still does consults us on her findings. She is totally hands-on and would email her concerns but would be understanding enough if we sometimes cannot reply immediately. She is one of our dream brides but we totally fell in love with her when we finally met 2 weeks before their wedding – her laughter so contagious, her bubbly nature so endearing , her appetite –well, that’s another story! (peace Rose, some people are really blessed with a good figure no matter what!!)

Wowie, well , this soft-spoken and good-natured fellow is someone , who at first looks quiet and aloof, but as you get to know him better he is also a jolly person or ‘kalog’ once he lets his guards down you can’t help but laugh along. No worries for this groom! He just wants it all to be fun and make sure everyone is fed well during the reception.

One thing I will always remember with Wowie was how we had a hard time securing his baptismal certificate! I remember the church coming out with a negative result during our first try and we were told to try the parish nearby. So we did some research and got hold of his Ate Rowena (Aya) who also informed us they really are vague about where he was baptized!! We were also laughing over the phone with Aya and I could help but say “ Kawawa naman our groom. Where was he really baptized?” Well, the explanation is since Wowie is the youngest among the siblings, they could not recall where he was baptized.

It came to a point where his Godmother was asked and pointed us to church in Pasay which also came out negative! Rose told us Wowie was already wondering if he was a legitimate child!! We did not give up and returned to the first church until , finally, they were able to find his records!! Amen to that! 

When Rose & Wowie arrived we already had a series of stuff to do like our detailing with Tita Lina Vitan, their pre-nuptial shots, filing of other documents with the Church, a visit to Adora’s Creations, and more with such limited time. ( Also view their pre-nup photoshoot album at our gallery) Rose and Wowie had their Canonical Interview and Pre-Cana to attend and also the Confirmation of Wowie was yet to be scheduled. But all went well, we had a meeting four days before the wedding with Ian of The Sentimental Groove to discuss the songs for the ceremony and the reception . We discussed the program a bit and we were good to go!

The night prior the wedding, we headed to the Crowne Plaza to check on Rose & Wowie and meet the other members of the entourage. We gathered everyone from the three other rooms together in the main room and I was able to walk them through the following day’s activities. We discussed what they were going to do as Candle, Cord and Veil sponsors and demonstrated this, briefed Mommy & Daddy, the little flower girls, MOH, etc . It was one fun session as everyone was in good spirits, everyone was laughing at the simplest things!! So, can you guess how late we all parted ways? It was almost midnight when we did get home --the experience and bonding with the families were well worth it!

The following day, Michelle was, as usual, early, arriving before the 9am call time. She was quick and did all fourteen people just In time for our pictorials. It was a full house in the main room as there were five of us Bleu Team people, twelve people from Nice Print, Tita Adora and her assistant and almost all of the entourage members distributed among the four rooms.

As you can see from the photos of Nice Print below, Rose was a real fun subject to shoot! She had fun posing for the camera and came up with her own poses which were sexy, wacky and serious (which was really, really difficult for her to do—promise!). The result : thousands of pictures that showed how much of a happy bride Rose was and complete with an equally funny and happy family. 

Wowie was also the same, there was not a moment that passed that he did not flash his winning smile –charming talaga (naks!) His sister, nieces, Father and Best Man were with him in his room making it all the more a very memorable moment for them. Wowie has worked overseas for the past thirteen years and has not been home for quite some time. So this was also a reunion of sorts for his family and friends.

We were early at the Church, the wedding before ours was ongoing when we arrived. This gave us time to gather all the members of the entourage and distribute what we had to. As you can see from the photos below, Our Lady of Light has quite a nice façade as you can see from the photos below. It is where Rose heard mass as a child, such a close affinity to the Church also makes her Bridal March even more meaningful.

Watching her march down the aisle really makes me swell with pride ( I usually get kinda melodramatic every time our Bride does her walk to forever – especially if I have become quite close to our couple). I am sure Mom & Dad also felt it more intensely than I did as they watched their daughter walking through the wooden doors of the Church. Sigh! Bliss, this feeling! I so love this moment.

I had to run off to the reception venue after seeing my couple to the altar. At Park Ridge, I was pleased to see Peter, Ryan and everyone else around for the set-up. Just tweaked a few arrangements here and there, arrange the couples area, coordinate with the other suppliers around regarding the program and we were all set! I briefed my staff for the day and spoke with the gentlemen of Lina Vitan regarding certain points of the program where we would be needing their assistance. Our emcee, Jun Dumlao was also at hand so I was relaxed while we waited for the arrival of the guests.

And soon enough, we were ushering everyone to their seats, seeing that most seats were occupied was a relief and I was pleased with the attendance, as I am sure Rose & Wowie are too. I know I may wound redundant in saying that it was a really one happy event! I am a sucker for this kind of wedding, one that spell FUN and happiness! We had a ball especially during the singles’ games, Wowie did his own rendition of the infamous dance to the tune of “Careless Whisper” with everyone cheering him on.

Rose & Wowie had their first dance to the 80s tune of “Reality” sung by our favorite band “The Sentimental Groove”, a meaningful song for these two lovebirds. We asked Jun to call on the other couples to join them and we were happy to see Mom & Dad proceed to the dance floor, whereupon I asked Wowie to make the switch so Rose could dance with her Dad….. again, being the sentimental fool I am, I had to hold back tears at the sight of them. It was a really another nice moment, I must say.

After the first dance, Rose & Wowie had a very touching message for each other, this was an emotional moment for them. Rose had to pause several times to stop the flood of tears from ruining her make-up (hahaha—vain ano?) but it was, nonetheless, very heartfelt. The entourage were all set to party after the expression of thanks from the couple, other guests took advantage of the remaining time left to have their photo souvenirs taken by the Studio on Wheels.

I must say, planning a wedding can be stressful but when your client is as nice, understanding , with such a positive attitude, trusts and values your opinions I believe that more often than not, all will go well… as it did with Rose & Wowie. We just observed that it’s mostly a matter of attitude that can make or break your event, a positive outlook certainly attracts all that is good!!

I remember when we were having lunch at Gerry’s Grill a few days before the wedding, Rose said she does not want to stress about some stuff and how she will simply let go, that for me is a good sign. Nothing negative for these two!! They are just a bunch of fun-loving and happy people which we were really blessed to have known and served. Months of planning all fell into place and, I must say, if I am to take Wowie’s word for it – they had a great time and he never expected the beautiful outcome …. Ahhh, bliss!! But as I said credit should go to our very resourceful bride who knew what she wanted from the start. We merely tied all the loose ends and made sure we fell very close or achieved what they expected.

Thank you Rose & Wowie, for the patience and understanding when we were planning, thanks for treating us and all your vendors as friends and partners. With clients such as you guys, you make us, your vendors, want to do our very best for you because after all, we are a team after the same goal – which is to make your wedding a truly happy and memorable event that will be remembered for years to come. Congratulations and best wishes you two! Stay happy and may you be blessed with plenty of smiling kids who are as beautiful as you both are – inside and out! We truly love you guys and will miss our chats. (I can hear Kim saying , “ Cheesy!!” –hahahahaha!)

Hi Menchie! It was indeed one great wedding! Everyone had fun , Rose is such a fun person to work with as well as her entire family..even Wowie, na medyo mas reserved, bumigay na rin! hehehehe..then it really pays that we had to coordinate well with Niceprint to give Rose senior photographers..after your event , Rose talaga made sure that she would get senior photographers.

I guess since they knew already of your dissatisfaction, NP also took it upon themselves to produce better pictures... am so sorry yours did not go as well :-( I know the anxiety overseas brides have when preparing for a wedding so it is important that we coordinators work closely with our clients and vendors..at the same time brides should understand that we do try to do our best always and always with your wedding in our hearts and minds. Sometimes though, na dedelay response coz we have an upcoming wedding that we likewise want to take care of...BUT at least when Marge took over your coordination from your previous coordinator... I suppose ok na..she is a friend and also good at what she does... :-) Rose and I naman we were able to pull it all through since I took over from your past coordinator too...( she is leaving for Kuwait soon too..I think Mommy was also affected by typhoon Ondoy judging from her last text ...)

Anyhow,I hope that there even a few good shots? Sad naman... :-( that this had to happen to you coz you had such nice plans, your set-up by Lina Vitan was impressive, and oh....the gown!! very , very beautiful indeed! I always also tell my clients that photographs are what is left after all is said and done, so investing in a good photographer / videographer is the key.

Am not saying NP is not good ha, as you can see in these photos they are good naman..and with my other clients too, they have delivered beyond what is expected naman. I guess it just so happens that the people assigned were not as good as Rupert and the other fellas... sigh.. I hope all will work well naman in the end, is it really that bad? ( disbelief..) I feel your sadness kasi everytime we chat and here in your message... smile ka na lang dear, after all you have each other naman and soon you will have little ones running around. Sa anniversary nyo na lang, take two tayo!! ;-)
